One of my works at BAEMIN is Design the Exploration journey, which is helping BAEMIN users discover merchants, dishes, promo, etc.. while using BAEMIN. This is a big journey and is delivered in many phases of the product. I will present some improvements to the search experience, which is a key experience on the Exploration journey

Background

According to The User NPS/CSAT Reports and UXR findings, there are two main issues with the Search feature on BAEMIN app, that need to be improved:

The search does not give results as the users want, which has hindered users' satisfaction greatly.
No filter during searching for dishes stays the top issue

Improve search performance

The old search engine doesn’t work well for search by item and limitation for some logic
︎︎︎ Replace and coverage the current search engine v1, and also improve search performance.

There are many factors that affect Search results. After some investigations, we found a better formula to calculate the weight to show better results and give them reasonable points
